James: My brother bought these UFC videos from the markets ages ago and we were hooked. Seen these guys carving up all the stand up fighters on the ground. I thought 'this is us' , I already had some boxing and kickboxing fights under my belt so I did Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for two months and then jumped straight in.
James: Each fight is different. I look at what type of shape I am in at the time, injuries I'm carrying, how much prep time I've got etc and work from there. Training sessions change from long and enduring to short and explosive as the fight comes closer.
JAMES: It doesnt matter what i'm listening to but if I sing to myself my singing talent does enough to piss me off and fire me up for a fight.
James: Yeah it's good. All the exposure from Foxtel has helped out a lot. The more media coverage we get, the faster we'll see MMA grow here in Australia.
James: The fight against Pride Bushido veteran Takahiro Oba. I had a hard time. My shoulder was dislocated in the opening round, put it back in and then in the 2nd round copped a soccer kick to the head. After that there were two of them! The fight went the distance and I managed to get the win, but I paid for it afterwards. I felt like a wreck!
JAMES: My family and friends drive me in whatever I persue.
JAMES: I've been fortunate enough to be working with him already - Mark Hunt. Easy as to get along with, very humble, has an open mind in everything he does which is why he picks up on things a lot faster than others. He is someone that I look up to.
JAMES: The one that puts them to sleep!
JAMES: If the ankle tap worked in MMA the same way it works in footy then I'd pick that. Ha Ha! I'll go for the Double leg.
JAMES: Spending time with family and friends. Travelling, beach, bars, movies and music.
